How's this for a useful farkle?
This was a spur of the moment purchase for me. I was at the Man's Toy Store (Home Depot) and figured I'd clone one of the pennytech
storage tubes I saw on the interweb. I didn't take pictures whilst I built the tube, but here's the steps I used:
- Cut the tube to length. I won't give dimensions here, but figure a bit under 18 inches.

- Cement one end cap using the correct plumber's cement.
- Mount the drawer pull in the other cap
- I used two big stainless band clamps through my HT rack, with a piece of innertube rubber between the rack and tube. Tighten it down, and you're finished!
